Celebrate your feminine power (or your love of females) with The Vagina Monologues  March 11-12 at the University of Miami.

In 1996 Eve Ensler first performed The Vagina Monologues, her collection of monologues relating to different aspects of the female life.  Ensler launched V-Day in 1998, a global non-profit organization raising funds and awareness for anti-violence groups.

Local groups across the world perform The Vagina Monologues during February and March to raise money and fight to end violence against women. Women in Distress of Broward County gave its production Feb. 27.

The UM troop will perform "The Vagina Monologues" on campus at 8 each night March 11 and 12. The shows are free, but donations will be accepted.

Take US 1 to Stanford Drive, enter UM's campus, and follow Stanford Drive until it dead ends.  You should see a large crowd gathered at the place 'Cane students call "The Rock," find parking and grab a seat. for the open-air, no-theater performance.

If you have questions about the UM performances, contact m.ewing@umiami.edu.  Donations will go to a women's cause on UM's campus.
